Opening Sequence

After discussing as a group we have come up with this initial idea so far...

Our opening sequence begins with a extreme long shot of a town, this is where the scene is set. The camera gradually passes through the streets to one main street where the event takes place. Fast forward motion is used to transfer the extreme long shot of the town to the neighbourhood street. Whilst the camera moves in, fast motion of medium shots of the neighbors are shown and shots of children playing with one another are also shown . Here a pleasant positive mood is set in the scene. Bright lighting is used and pleasant music is also played alongside to convey a jovial atmosphere . We then show a long shot of a house with a garage showing the house to be very pleasant from the exterior. The camera wil then slowly move towards the garage and slowly enter the garage. At this stage all lighting will change to dark shadowy effects in order to potray a sense of evil, danger and unpleasantnes. Dramatic Non diagetic music will now also be played alongside the scence. This adding to the dramatic affect. After a few seconds of showing the inside of the garage the audience will be shown a young girl crouched up in a corner. She will be scared and hysterically crying with her hands and feet tied up. Different shots will be used to show the girl and to emphasise on her emotions. High angle shots will be used in order to show her vunerablity.

Between the scene which is shot in the garage, scenes of a red room will be placed in intervals. Here a red room wil be shown where many images of the young girl who is shown in the garage are pinned up. This will possibly cause questions in the mind of the audience on who is responsible for this and what has happened.

To finish off the sequence an extreme close up shot wil be shown of her eyes showing her emotion which will then fade into a black out.

Credits will also be added and the title of the film will be shown at the end of the opening sequence.
