Initial ideas and Targets

For this project our aim is to make a opening sequence of a film. The functions that will be needed to be included in this are as follows:

• To reassure the audience by demonstrating the conventions of the chosen genre.
• To clearly establish time and place.
• To establish themes and motifs liked to the ideologies in the film
• To set up the initial equilibrium that will later be disrupted.
• To create enigmas
• To introduce and establish characters.
• To set up audience expectations

The functions of the opening sequence that we will be focusing on are creating enigmas, setting up character backgrounds - however not entirely revealing the main character - and causing some sort of a confusion in the audiences mind.
